Friday Fun at Pollok House

Are you looking for something to do with your little one on a Friday? Pollok House have Parents and Tots mornings for children aged 18 months to 5 years old and their parents or carers. It’s a drop-in session where the adults can meet and share a cuppa whilst the children have access to lots of books and other learning activities and there may even be some storytelling.

We’ve not tried it out yet but fancy giving it a go one week. If you want more details go to the National Trust Scotland website. There is a charge involved, see the website for further information.

Impossible Bodies at The Tramway Family Day – Sunday 11th March

I love the Tramway Family Days and I am really looking forward to taking my little one to the next one which is on Sunday March 11th. This one is called Impossible Bodies and aims to introduce young children to contemporary performance exploring movement and transformation. There is a ticketed performance and workshop called, “We are the Monsters” by Colette Sadler along with a range of drop-in activities that are free and suitable for children aged 0-12 and their parents. You will have the opportunity to make puppets, create mobiles and streamers and play with live visual projections….. looking forward to it already.

If you want more information and the details for booking, go to the Tramway website and if you go have a great time.

World Book Day – Thursday 1st March

Are you doing anything to mark World Book Day? Here in my childminding service we are going to go on a bear hunt using all different materials for an added sensory experience. You don’t have to do anything as adventurous as that, even sharing a favourite book with your child can be a nice way to mark the day. If you want more ideas though I’d strongly recommend going to the World Book Day website and clicking on their resources page and checking out the different ideas and printables there.

Have fun whatever you decide to do and HAPPY READING!!

Baby Booty Sale

If you’re looking for a bargain for your little one then head to the Baby Booty Sale at Kelvinhall next Saturday (25th February). It’s on from 10.30am to 1.00pm and has 30 stalls of nearly-new and pre-loved maternity and children’s items. You can also have a cuppa and a cake in their cafe. There is an entrance fee of £1 for adults but children go free and you are bound to save that £1 many times over so it’s well worth it.

For more information check out their website:  or like their page on Facebook.

Hello and Welcome

My name is Victoria, Vicki to my friends and family, and I am a childminder registered with The Care Inspectorate and a member of the Scottish Childminding Association. I am passionate about working with children and have done so throughout my working life. I provide a high standard of childcare in a safe but homely environment which allows your child to develop emotionally, physically and socially.

My childminding service is based in our family home in Newlands in the South Side of Glasgow. I have dedicated spaces for the children to recognise as their space to play, eat and sleep. I also like to take the children on regular outings to various venues and places around the South Side of Glasgow and sometimes further afield. No two days are the same but every day is all about having fun.
