The ABCs of Christmas…. Q is for QUIET TIME

I don’t know about you but I sometimes feel that amidst all of the fun and exciting activities that we’ve been doing for Christmas that all my little one wants is a bit of quiet time (I know that’s what I sometimes want too!).

To calm things down in our household we often get out the books and cushions and sit calmly looking at them. Sometimes we read together and sometimes I just let my little one sit and look at the books themselves. To keep him interested in looking at the books I often choose a few staple favourites and then swap other ones around for him and seeing as Christmas is fast approaching we have been looking at a few different Christmas books.

Listed below are a few books that we are currently sharing and enjoying in our moments of quiet:

  • One Snowy Night (A tale from Percy’s Park) by Nick Butterworth
  • Secret Santa byRichard Jewitt and Simone Abel
  • Paddington and the Christmas Surprise by Michael Bond
  • Merry Christmas Little Mouse by Dugald Steer and Caroline Anstey
  • The Night Before Christmas by Clement C. Moore

Why not dig out a few books that your little one hasn’t looked at for a while and encourage them to have some quiet time too… maybe you can even pop the kettle on and enjoy a sneaky mince pie!
