The ABCs of Christmas….. S is for SNOW GLOBE

There’s something rather magical about watching snow fall whether it is the real thing or glitter and snowflakes falling around a Christmas decoration inside a snow globe.

Today’s entry is to show you how to make a snow globe with your little one – this will require a little planning as not all of the items that you require will be what you have in the house. It also requires quite a lot of adult supervision but can still be fun to do with your little one.

To make a snow globe you will need the following:

  • A clean jar with lid
  • A glue gun with glue sticks
  • Some Christmas decorations and figurines  – it’s best if these are plastic so that they are waterproof
  • Water
  • Glitter
  • Liquid glycerine (you can get this in pharmacies)

and you need to do the following:

  • Using the glue gun, stick the Christmas decorations to the inside of the jar lid and allow it to completely dry
  • Fill the jar with water
  • Add  about a teaspoon of the glitter
  • Add a few drops of the glycerine
  • Using the glue gun again, glue around the inside edge of the lid, place the lid on the jar and allow the glue to dry completely
  • Shake your jar and watch the snow fall!
