Fun Day Monday

Easter is fast approaching so for today’s Fun Day Monday I thought you might like to see what we’ve been up to in my childminding service to celebrate this time of the year.

I found this lovely idea from a blog called De tout et de rien where they used a potato masher to print some egg shapes so we had a go ourselves and produced some great Easter pictures. It’s such a simple activity and all you need is:

  • A potato masher shaped like an egg
  • Paint – mixed colours
  • A Paintbrush
  • Paper or card to print onto
  • Green paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • An apron

and you need to do the following:

  • Put the apron on your little one and then give them the paints and paintbrush and encourage them to paint the masher

  • Now give your little one the paper or card and get them to make a print by placing the masher down on the paper

  • Once the egg prints have dried you can add some grass by cutting out a strip of green paper and snipping along the top edge to form your blades of grass. ┬áStick your grass along the bottom of their picture to complete it

The children really enjoyed this activity and had great fun using something different and new to make their pictures with. Why not give it a go….. have fun!
