Fun Day Monday

Hooray….. advent is here which means that Christmas is only around the corner!

For today’s fun activity why not share the smell of Christmas with your little one. For me cinnamon is a smell that I associate with Christmas so why not get your little one to do some drawing with cinnamon.

For this activity you will need:

  • Sandpaper
  • Scissors
  • Cinnamon sticks

and all you do is:

  • Cut the sandpaper into Christmas shapes like stars, bells or a Christmas tree…. maybe your little one can choose what they associate with Christmas
  • Give your little one a cinnamon stick and show them how to rub it on the sandpaper to make a pattern and to release the lovely smell of cinnamon

You could extend this activity by talking about other smells that you associate with Christmas such as cloves, pine needles, oranges etc and letting your little one smell them.

Have fun evoking memories, I hope that today’s activity will start to get you in the mood for Christmas.

PS. You may remember that last year I did the A-Z of Christmas through the month of December. Due to other commitments this year I won’t manage it but don’t forget you can always look through my blog archive for the ideas that I shared with you last year.
