Fun Day Monday

Hello! How are you? I hope that all you lovely mummies out there had a relaxing day with your little ones yesterday…. I was thoroughly spoilt by my little boy and his daddy and had a great day.

Today I want to share an activity that some of my mindees made for their mummies as it’s a great activity to do for springtime too…. we made flowers out of old CDs.

If you want to make your own CD flower you will need the following:

  • An old CD
  • Paper straws
  • Child friendly scissors
  • Double sided tape
  • Large lolly stick
  • PVA glue
  • Paintbrush or glue spreader
  • Glitter
  • Apron

and you need to do the following:

  • Firstly give your little one the paper straws and the scissors and get them to cut the petals. I showed them the approximate size of a petal and then let them cut their own.

  • Now put the apron on your little one as they’re about to get the glue out!!
  • Give your little one the glue, the glue spreader and the old CD and get them to spread the glue all over the CD.

  • They now have to arrange the cut pieces of straw around the CD to look like petals.

  • Whilst the glue is wet you also want to give them the glitter to shake onto the CD to make their flower sparkly.
  • To finish off you want to cut a piece of double sided tape and use it to stick the large lolly stick to the back of the CD to make the flower stalk.

I hope you have as much fun making a CD flower as we did….. don’t forget to remind your little one that the CD is an old one and that they are not to do this with your actual CD collection!!
