A Typical Day

We have a  loose daily routine here at my childminding service to allow us to chop and change activities and timings according to the children’s needs, the activities in question and external factors such as the weather.

The schedule below indicates how a typical day might be planned:

08:00 to 08:30 = Welcome, Registration and Breakfast

08:30 to 09:15 = School run

09:15 to 10:00 = Set Activity (arts & crafts/ music & stories/ baking/ games)

10:00 to 10:20 = Morning Snack

10:20 to 11:00 = Free Play

11:00 to 12:00 = Set Activity (arts & crafts/ music & stories/ baking/ games)

12:00 to 12:45 = Lunch Time

12:45 to 14:30 = Quiet Time/ Nap Time

14:30 to 15:15 = School run

15:15 to 15:35 = Afternoon Snack

15:35 to 17:00 = Free Play/ Outdoor play

17:00 to 18:00 = Tea Time and Pick Up

There will be some days, especially during the school holidays, where we may spend all day out on a trip but snack times, meal times and nap times will still be adhered to.

If children have specific routines and nap times at home and I can adapt our routine to help accommodate this then I shall do so although the needs of all the children in the service will be taken into consideration.

I do not have set times for changing nappies, these are done according to the needs of the individual child. All soiled nappies are changed immediately.
