What’s on Wednesday….. on a Friday!

Hi there,

Apologies for the delay in this week’s “What’s On Wednesday”, I’ve had family staying this week and we’ve been busy entertaining! It has meant that I have been out and about though and discovered a few places to mention on my blog!

So, it’s not so much as a “What’s On Wednesday” this week as a “Where To Go Wednesday…… on a Friday!”.

We visited Calderglen Country Park today and went to the children’s zoo and conservatory as well as the adventure playground and we had a wonderful time looking at the animals, running around the park and playing in the adventure playground.

Calderglen is on the boundary of East Kilbride and it is free to enter the park. There is a cafe there if you fancy a cuppa but there are also a lot of picnic tables and a bbq area for sunnier days so you can take your own picnic. There is a small entrance fee for adults to enter the children’s zoo (£1.15/adult on 07.09.12) but it’s worth it to see the owls, marmosets, wallabies and meerkats to name but a few.
